ISOCOM news
From April 2008, Isocom Components 2004 Ltd has introduced new mould tools for the manufacture of 4 pin transistor output optocouplers only. All dimensions and manufacturing materials are identical. There is no change to the manufacturing location and all devices carry the same industry standard safety approvals.

Isocom Components introduces its new “ Compact “ range of optocoupler. This range is assembled in a super space efficient half pitch mini flat pack. Devices are available in both 4 and 16 pin configurations giving a single or quad device. Inputs are also available for DC or AC operation
Families include
Transistor Output 4 Pin
The 4 pin transistor output series of
optically coupled isolators consists
of an infrared light emitting diode
and a NPN silicon phototransistor
Transistor Output 16 Pin
The 16 pin transistor output series of
optically coupled isolators consists
of four infrared light emitting diodes
and four NPN silicon phototransistors
AC Input 4 Pin
The 4 pin AC input series of optically
coupled isolators consists of 2
infrared light emitting diodes
connected in inverse parallel and
a NPN silicon
AC Input 16 Pin
The 16 pin AC input series of optically
coupled isolators consists of eight
infrared light emitting diodes
connected in inverse parallel and
8 NPN silicon phototransistors
Optically Coupled MOSFET Relays
Isocom Components offers a range of MOSFET relays with a miniature small outline package through to a dual channel 8 pin DIP package. The relays can be used in either an AC or DC mode and due to the MOSFET technology offer very high reliability. Several versions are available offering: low drive current, high voltage, high current, low contact resistance, etc.

Isocom Components 2004 Ltd and TRG Components are pleased to announce a distribution agreement that covers TRG’s locations in the US, the UK, Germany and Sweden.
This recently announced strategic partnership comes at a time of rapid growth for both Isocom and TRG Components, and represents a major opportunity for both firms to broaden their market presence.
Isocom Components (www.isocom.com), for over 15 years has been a leading manufacturer of high performance infrared optoelectronic devices specializing in optocouplers and optoswitches. Additionally, Isocom has recently expanded its product offering with a line of MOSFET solid state relays (SSRs). Isocom consistently delivers in excess of customer's expectations and with its knowledge of the optoelectronics market and flexible manufacturing processes now features the shortest production lead times in the world for many devices in its product portfolio.
The Republic Group's Electronic Components Division (TRG Components) (www.trgcomponents.com) has been a leader in sales and distribution of electronic products for over 40 years. TRG strives to build lasting relationships with its suppliers and customers alike by offering a unique blend of products and services from offices in the US, Germany, the UK and Sweden. TRG will stock a wide range of Isocom products throughout its network of offices and international locations and will aggressively work to grow Isocom’s market share in both Europe and North America.
To ensure that it fully complies with its isolation rating, the IS204X has been tested and approved to the latest VDE0884 safety standards. It has a drive current requirement that can be as low as 0.5mA to obtain effective and consistent operation.
The device is designed to saturate at 0.4V instead of the less practical 10V, normally associated with such components.
These optically coupled isolators are used to maintain isolation between system components in computer terminals, industrial controllers and measuring instruments.
The low input current requirements of IS204X can make a significant contribution to minimising the power needs of the overall system, particularly when a number of isolators are involved.
Compliance with the VDE standard makes the device ideal for incorporation into power supplies, CE marked products and systems where secure, high-voltage isolation is essential.
The IS204X comprises of an infra-red diode and an NPN silicon photo-transistor mounted in a space efficient dual-in-line plastic package with a six-pin European standard pin-out, including a base connection for gain control.
Three versions are offered, suffixed '3', '2' and '1', characterised by their minimum current transfer ratios (CTR's) The IS204X3 produces a CTR of 70% for an input current as low as 0.5mA, or 100% at 1.0mA, while the -X2 and -X1 types both provide a minimum 50% CTR for respective drive currents of 0.5mA and 1.0mA.
In addition to these standard variants, Isocom Components can supply units with improved characteristics through its special selection service.
